Virus Epidemiology, Vector Dynamics & Public Health

Emergence of novel virus infections has become a constant threat. There is poor documentation of the prevalence and social impact of existing virus infections. Information on these aspects is crucial for policy development and planning control measures. This department will have key roles in focusing on research involving epidemiology of virus infections prevalent in the state and also in looking at the public health impact of virus infections. It will take up studies on epidemic emergency response and preparedness in a community perspective, and also will get involved in implementing government policies on vaccinations and field surveys.
