ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) plate reader is a machine used to measure the absorbance of light in microplate wells, which allows for the detection and quantification of biological molecules such as proteins, antibodies, and antigens. The plate reader measures the absorbance of light at specific wavelengths, and the data can be used to determine the concentration of the biological molecule being studied.
ELISA plate washers are used to wash microplate wells in between steps of the ELISA assay. The washer can be programmed to dispense specific volumes of washing buffer into each well and then aspirate the buffer out, effectively removing any unbound material while leaving the bound material intact.
Together, ELISA plate readers and washers are essential tools in ELISA assays, which are widely used in biomedical research and clinical diagnosis.
