Viral Vaccines

The Department of Viral Vaccines is dedicated to advancing the science of vaccine development, recognizing that vaccines are the cornerstone for the long-term control and eventual elimination of viral infections. This department focuses on the generation of novel and next-generation vaccines, alongside the enhancement of existing vaccine formulations to improve their efficacy and accessibility. A critical aspect of the department’s mission is conducting fundamental research on host immune responses to viral infections, which provides valuable insights into vaccine design and optimization. Additionally, the department is committed to fostering innovation in vaccine technology, including the use of molecular adjuvants, delivery systems, and platforms like DNA and mRNA vaccines, to address emerging and re-emerging viral threats.

Through collaborative efforts and cutting-edge research, the Department of Viral Vaccines aims to contribute significantly to global public health and the fight against infectious diseases. The department is also working towards understanding the pathogenesis of dengue virus infection.
